    DENTIST

Dr Roslyn Franklin is a dentist, educator, infection prevention and control consultant, and the Director of Amalgamate Consulting.

Raised between Australia and the United States, Roslyn returned to Perth, Western Australia to study dentistry, graduating from The University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 1994.

She began her career in Kalgoorlie, providing care to regional and remote communities, including through the Royal Flying Doctor Service, before settling in Bunbury, Western Australia, where she worked in both public and private practice.

Along the way, she developed a passion for education and mentoring. While raising a young family, she became involved in oral health promotion programs for babies and primary school children and later trained and mentored dental assistants, completing a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

In 2015, a colleague's request for help with practice accreditation sparked an unexpected career transition and the creation of Amalgamate Consulting.

Since then, she has become a respected voice in infection prevention and control, serving on committees with the Australasian College of Infection Prevention and Control (ACIPC), contributing to professional education across Australia, and leading the chapter on infection control in dental settings for the textbook

Healthcare-Associated Infections in Australia: Principles and Practice of Infection Prevention and Control.

Today, Roslyn works with dental teams throughout Australia and New Zealand, helping practitioners build safer, more compliant workplaces through practical education and evidence-based infection control programs. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control from Griffith University, a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, and is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.
